Do men lose interest so soon?!

I had a spontaneous date last week with an attractive man. Despite his player look, he's actually pretty sweet and loyal. After stalking his facebook etc... I know he's probably not seeing anyone at this moment.
I am a very beautiful and fun woman and honestly, I look way better than all his exes (after checking them out on facebook). Our first date was AMAZING, alot of chemistry, alot of flirting. He kept complimenting my beauty and repeated many times that he's so lucky to have met me and would really want to see me again.
After that date, he would send me a sweet message everyday till about three days ago, when we talked on msn, I kind of offended him by saying the followings after he's asked me for a second date (I've always played hard-to-get, this time it backfired),
"Are you involved with other women at this moment? if so, I don't want to be involved with you"
and..."My friend thinks you are hot, she said if i don't want to date you, she will"
After that msn conversation, he stopped texting. One day later, I texted him the following "Hi how's your weekend? by the way, i want to apologize for the other night. I was mean, sorry."
He didn't respond. Yesterday after I logged in msn, he logged in 2 minutes after. I initiate the conversation, but after afew exchange of words, he logged off even without saying "Goodbye". I proceeded to message the following offline " Hope you get this message. Look I told you im sorry to have said things i shouldnt have said. I really enjoyed meeting you that day and I hope to make it up to you next friday."
It's been 2 days now and I haven't heard a word from him. Did I do the right thing to apologize? has he lost complete interest? or is he just playing games?
